Sheryl Giesbrecht meets Compassion child in Kenya!

What a great day - I even got to help with planting an avocado tree with Caroline, my Compassion child in front of AIC Mungali Project. A tree is a symbol of life and also a symbol of our partnership. We hope to visit our tree and our child again in years to come!
Caroline has been with Mungali project, about 2 hours drive from Nairobi, for about 18 months. We have sponsored her for five years. She lives with her mother and father, a brother and a sister, grandmother and four other relatives in a small two bedroom house.
When I choose my Compassion child, about 6 years ago, I wanted a girl. I also wanted one who shared my birthday - April 1. I also chose a child in Africa, hoping to get to meet her someday. My wish and prayer was realized by the recent trip to Kenya, Mungali Project from 4/21-5/18/2009. I thank God for the ministry of Compassion - Releasing Children from Poverty in Jesus' Name!
